I’m an acoustic guitarist and tenor banjo player from Beeston, near Nottingham. I arrange and play traditional celtic tunes on guitar, especially the compositions of legendary Irish harpist and composer Turlough O’Carolan.
My music is suited to intimate and quiet spaces and events and I’m always on the look out for interesting venues to play.
You can also hear me with the Phil Langran Band, the Beeston Ceilidh Collective, covers band Goose McCoy, and at various traditional sessions and clubs around the area.
My album The Fortune Teller is available as a digital download on Bandcamp here. or you can order a CD copy by contacting me. You can also listen to some recordings on Soundcloud:
I play a Brook Guitar, handmade by Andy and Simon at their remote farmhouse workshop in Devon. It’s well worthwhile taking half an hour to watch this wonderful documentary about their work.
Some delightful tunes at the Flying Goose this lunchtime. I’ve heard the Ashokan Farewell somewhere recently – but where? Beautiful, sensitive guitar playing, Steve : you just can’t beat ‘live’.
Thanks Steve for your “Easy like Sunday Morning” session
at The Flying Goose, Beeston. Some lovely music and fretwork.
Poignantly enhanced by “the silence of the trams”.
Keep in touch
